‘Tis the season to start planning your festive office event

‘Tis the Season to transform your office space!

Are you late to the party with the planning of your organisations annual festive gathering?

There is no need to panic if so… we are here to help and support you with tips on how to transform your office space and bring the party to you!

1.Budget: Is the most important starting point;

First of all, you need to consider how much you would like to spend and actually have to spend.

2. Location: At your offices or close by?

You need to then decide where you will have this party? Do you have a large boardroom you can use? If not you can easily transform and decorate your office space in no time with little effort

3. Team support: Many hands make light work

Recruit some team members to help you plan, organise, and execute, essentially know as your” Elf Squad”

4. Save the date: Communication is key

Choose a date and time that suits everyone, maybe you could send out a questionnaire asking people for ideas, times etc. The key point is, you need as many of your organisation in attendance, so you need to do the leg work to ensure you ticket the attendance box from as many, if not all as possible.

Now it is time to send out your invitations! We think digital invitations are well received and you are guaranteed they will all fall into their inboxes at the same time.

So now you have your time, location you just need to decide on a dress code and a theme!

5. Time to organise the entertainment, food and drink!

It is always a great idea (budget permitting) to bring in suppliers to ease the pressure, and this gives you time to relax and enjoy the party as well.

Why not kickstart your evening with a welcome drink reception from the very best mixologists and flare bartenders, they will really get the party started and create for you a special ‘on brand office’ winter cocktail.

Live music will go down a treat, a live DJ percussionist is perfect to welcome your team back to the office, if you don’t know what they are, check them out – you will be wanting to get them booked in!  Maybe you want your office attendees to get involved and we highly recommend a live ‘Jukebox’ band Or what about a roaming saxophonist playing some of the old school hits and new modern tunes… We can tell you are thinking what we are and picturing that entrance to your office party right now… what a place to be!

6. Catering Keep it simple and fun. If you have outside space, we really recommend some street food stalls with a variety of menus available to suit everyone’s style, or what about stone baked pizzas, cooked fresh right in front of you.

If your outside space is restricted never fear, we always have a plan… what about fresh sushi cooked and served by the best chefs we know, or.. and we all love… a charcuterie meat, cheese board, (use your boardroom table) and really make a spectacle, there are so many options and varieties of food that will suit absolutely everyone and suit any space.

7. Last but not least…festive activities

Activities there are so many exciting things you could plan – again budget dependant.

It was tough to whittle it down to our top 5 indoor party entertainment options these we thought would be perfect …

  • Paint and Sip
  • Secret Santa with a difference
  • The Flavour Explorer with Edible Painting
  • Millionaire by midnight
  • Festive live music quiz

You can really get creative with entertainment, so don’t be afraid to think outside the box!

8. Dress the room(s):

If you are planning to party during the working day, get all of the team involved with dressing the room and creating that ‘party’ atmosphere, if you are planning it to be after hours, gather your all-important Elf Squad and let the team go home and get ready and you can get down to it.

9. Enjoy the festivities:

Many of our clients who organise events like this, always comment that they don’t get the chance to enjoy it themselves as they are so bogged down with the details. Why not assign a team member or bring in external event support.  Having an assigned external ‘go to’ person is one of the single best things you can do. It means that you won’t get flooded with questions and can enjoy the event yourself, knowing all the hard work and graft pre-event has meant you can enjoy the event itself!
